The "Wiener Ball Orchester" directed by Martin Elmquist and the band "Chic Planet" provide for a spirited evening's dancing by playing both classical and more modern dance melodies into the early hours.

In accordance with tradition, the Ball is formally opened by the international debutante committee performing a line up of polonaise, quadrille, polka, and waltz. For every ball since 1984, a professional choreographer has selected up to 16 couples and prepared their display using a tailor-made choreography. The performance is a special feature of the Ball and its visual harmony attracts much attention in the press and TV reports of the evening.

Another highlight is constituted by several artistic shows.

The traditional dress (long evening gowns for the ladies and dinner suits for the gentlemen) of the ball guests and the elegant ballroom with its dance floor ensure a festive ball atmosphere with Viennese charm and flair.
